Print Quality and Process
Producing a fine art print with depth and detail is crucial to me as an artist. My goal is to provide buyers and collectors with a print that is of premium quality and archival permanence to be enjoyed for years. Each print is made with state-of-the-art techniques and closely inspected for quality before being shipped.
Traditional Prints These museum grade prints are printed on archival fiber based photo paper to ensure rich colors with a long life expectancy (fade resistance). All the materials touching the print are made to archival standards.
Canvas Prints Canvas prints are made on museum grade high quality canvas then coated with a high quality canvas varnish to protect, enhance and preserve the image. Each canvas is then stretched over 1.5" deep museum quality wooden stretcher bars. The image is wrapped over the sides so the it is seen from all viewing angles. Your image is ready to hang with no framing necessary. With the cost of framing usually exceeding the cost of the print, the canvas prints are cost effective compared to the cost of professional framing.
Matting When prints are ordered with the matting option, GALLERY WHITE, 100% cotton rag, archival mat is the standard default option. Photographs are dry-mounted to insure flatness under varying temperature and humidity conditions. Light grey, dark grey, or black are available upon special request. Simply send an email with your order indicating the mat preference you have if different than the default. Colored mats are not offered because it is impossible to offer the complete range of colors available in a color-accurate, web presentation. If you have specific mat colors in mind for your decor, we recommend purchasing the print only and selecting the mat color in person at a framer or store.
Image Sizes The print sizes offered are proportional to the original dimensions of the image as composed in the viewfinder, or post-processing cropping. Therefore you won't see some of the "standard" sizes like 8x10 because it crops too much of the original shot. A proportional enlargement near this size would be 6x9 or 8x12. So you can see an 8x10 "standard size" would need 2 inches cropped off to fit, which is an unacceptable compromise for most images. Some dimensions may vary slightly depending on the proportions of the final image displayed. Some images may have had some cropping from the original, or started from a modest resolution file, which may limit going to very large print sizes. These sizes are defined as beyond 16x24. For this reason, we ask that you email us for larger prints so we can assure the image you have chosen will provide a quality enlargement. As always, every print order is 100% guaranteed.
